Indiana State University's Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) Program trains clinical psychologists to provide diverse professional services including psychological treatment, evaluation, consultation, and leadership. The curriculum adheres to the evidence-based practitioner-scientist training model.
Our program cultivates a professional identity in students that emphasizes: outstanding clinical skills, intellectual curiosity and analytical thinking, dedication to advancing psychological knowledge, strong social awareness, sensitivity to cultural and individual diversity in practice and research, and lifelong personal and professional growth.
At Indiana State, PsyD students start clinical coursework and practical training immediately in their first year. We promote early engagement in faculty research to prepare for dissertation work. Unlike many PsyD programs, ours maintains a stronger research focus through its dissertation requirement.
