The Applied Community and Economic Development (ACED) program is a cross-disciplinary initiative that empowers individuals dedicated to driving social impact through service to advance their professional journey. Tailored for former Peace Corps Volunteers and students with development backgrounds (including AmeriCorps or nonprofit experience), this program is managed by the Stevenson Center for Community and Economic Development. Fellows undergo a rigorous year of on-campus study before embarking on an 11-month paid practicum. During their time on campus, ACED participants hold graduate assistantships in both fall and spring semesters before beginning fieldwork. This sequence provides students with a comprehensive, practical education to prepare for careers in community and economic development across global and domestic settings.
