The photography curriculum focuses on cultivating both technical abilities and creative vision, while providing a strong foundation in modern critical analysis. This program aims to equip students for advanced academic pursuits and professional careers as independent visual artists. At the Wonsook Kim School of Art, students can choose from diverse photography classes ranging from basic black-and-white film processing in Photography 1 to advanced work with color techniques, digital photography, and innovative approaches in Photography 2 and 3. The Special Topics course allows upper-level students to investigate rotating subjects such as Alternative Processes, Environmental Photography, Storytelling Techniques, Portrait Photography, Studio Lighting Methods, and Documentary Practice. The department encourages a collaborative, exploratory environment where learners can investigate multiple creative directions and examine photography as a powerful form of conceptual communication.
