Illinois Tech provides a close-knit academic community with dedicated faculty who offer individualized guidance to tailor degrees to diverse career goals. The accelerated master's in biology program creates opportunities across various sectors including industry, business, law, policy, management, or research, serving either as a final qualification or as a stepping stone to doctoral studies.
Following undergraduate completion, students can select between thesis and non-thesis tracks to earn their M.S. in biology.
The thesis track prepares students for experimental biology careers in academic, governmental, or corporate settings, while also serving as a foundation for Ph.D. studies. Admission to this competitive program is selective.
The non-thesis alternative caters to professionals in science administration, policy development, patent law, and related fields. This master's program requires completion of either a library-based or laboratory-based research project.
