The Civil Engineering Technology program is offered through Idaho State University's College of Technology. This program collaborates with Idaho Career & Technical Education and has received approval from the State Board of Education. Upon completing the program, graduates will be prepared to: 1. Secure professional positions as Surveying Technicians, Drafters, Designers, or Laboratory/Field-Testing Technicians within Civil Engineering or Public Works sectors. 2. Conduct land and construction surveys utilizing modern surveying equipment, technologies, and computer-aided drafting systems for diverse projects. 3. Execute material testing and construction inspections in both laboratory and field settings to verify adherence to project requirements.
Graduates will develop these key competencies - 1. Proficiency in applying mathematical, scientific, and engineering principles along with contemporary tools to address discipline-specific challenges, 2. Capacity to develop technical solutions and contribute to engineering system designs, 3. Effective communication skills across written, verbal, and visual formats in technical contexts, plus the ability to utilize relevant technical resources.
