Professionals in Surveying and Geomatics specialize in measuring and charting the earth's surface, airspace, water bodies, and defining legal land boundaries by utilizing cutting-edge tools like software, satellites, sonar, 3D scanning, and drone technology. The program provides pathways for those pursuing careers in surveying and geomatics, whether at the professional or technician level. Courses are taught by licensed, experienced instructors through fully online or in-person formats. Students can transfer relevant surveying credits from other institutions to ISU to apply toward their degree or certification. To enroll in the Surveying and Geomatics Engineering Technology major, applicants must hold an AAS Degree in Civil Engineering Technology from ISU or an equivalent qualification, or obtain approval from the program coordinator. Advising sessions are required before the third year to officially declare the major. For more information, reach out to the Surveying and Geomatics Engineering Technology program faculty.
