The Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics equips students for careers in industry or advanced academic study. Algebra classes build foundational skills essential for upper-level coursework. General education mathematics courses help students comprehend math as a universal language for framing and solving real-world problems. Science and engineering-focused courses, especially calculus and linear algebra, cultivate technical abilities, practical application techniques, and insight into mathematical principles behind these methods. Statistics coursework provides fundamental probability knowledge and teaches practical statistical applications. Future educators pursuing math majors or minors acquire broad mathematical literacy, investigative thinking skills, and proficiency in mathematical communication. Mathematics majors explore diverse subfields of the discipline while developing analytical capabilities, technical writing skills, and the comprehensive knowledge required for professional opportunities or graduate studies in mathematics and related areas.
