The Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a Biology Education Concentration prepares students seeking teaching certification in biology. Compared to the B.S. in Biology, the B.A. program requires fewer Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics courses while offering more upper-level electives, allowing students greater flexibility in shaping their academic path. Note that the B.A. in Biology typically doesn't fulfill the prerequisites for most biological science graduate programs or health science professional programs.
To earn the B.A. degree, students must complete all General Education Objectives outlined in the Academic Information section of this catalog. Additionally, they must fulfill both the core requirements specified below and the Biology Education Concentration requirements. Every graduate from this program will receive a B.A. in Biology, irrespective of their chosen concentration.
