The program has two primary goals: to equip students with a solid grounding in computer science principles and applications, fostering their growth as skilled, ethical professionals and continuous learners capable of designing and deploying cutting-edge computing solutions for societal benefit, and to cultivate autonomous thinkers poised to lead in tech industries or academic settings. These individuals will possess profound understanding of computer science fundamentals, a comprehensive view of both traditional and emerging computing disciplines, and specialized knowledge in their selected areas. Hofstra's accelerated computer science program enables exceptional CSC undergraduates to complete bachelor's and master's degrees in about five years. Within the mandatory 30 graduate credit hours, 12 credits taken during senior year count toward both undergraduate and graduate degree requirements.
