Our institution will introduce a post-graduate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Certificate Program, with graduates qualifying to take the ANCC national certification exam.
By combining Hofstra University's comprehensive academic programs with Northwell Health's extensive clinical expertise, our School creates an unparalleled educational environment.
Our PMHNP Certificate Program employs an interprofessional approach to train practitioners capable of delivering evidence-based, compassionate care that addresses the complete health needs of diverse communities, ultimately improving lives worldwide.
The PMHNP curriculum specifically prepares graduates to deliver comprehensive mental healthcare throughout patients' lives. These practitioners offer essential mental health services across various clinical settings, focusing on continuous, relationship-driven care that encompasses mental health promotion, psychiatric disorder prevention and treatment, and ongoing wellness maintenance. Their scope includes evaluating, diagnosing, and managing mental health conditions for patients of all ages (NONPF, 2013, 2017).
