The fire science technology AS degree prepares you for a career as a fire officer, fire instructor, fire investigator, fire safety inspector, hazardous materials technician, building inspector, or fire insurance salesperson.
With many online course options to accommodate busy schedules, this program combines technical study and coursework in mathematics, English, physical science and liberal arts with knowledge necessary to advance into supervisory or management positions.
Courses are offered on a one-year rotation basis, either Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., or on a shift-friendly schedule, or online. Please check the course description page and the current term schedule for more information, as not all courses will meet online requirements.

Qualification Requirements
To be eligible for admission to an associate degree program at HCC, applicants must submit documentation that they have the equivalent of one of the following:
high school equivalency certificate (GED)
Associate or higher degree
standard high school diploma
