The applied track equips students with comprehensive understanding of oceanic physical, geological, chemical, and ecological processes, along with practical skills for marine environment exploration and living resource management. Tailored for those pursuing careers in applied resource management, the MSMS-A program focuses on developing real-world skills and analytical capabilities needed to oversee and regulate the world's ocean systems.
This track concludes with an immersive practicum, offering direct collaboration with marine resource experts to build professional networks and gain a competitive educational edge. Full-time participants typically enroll in 3-4 courses per semester, completing the program within 2 years (4 semesters).

Qualification Requirements
A baccalaureate degree in the Natural Sciences is required for entry into the MSMS program. Certain course prerequisites may be required before enrolling in graduate MSMS courses, depending on the student's academic preparation and research interests.
Students graduating with a Bachelor's degree in the Natural Sciences with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher may apply to the MSMS program at HPU.
TOEFL (IBT) overall score of 80 with a writing score of 25 or IELTS overall score of 6.0 with a writing score of 6.5.
TRANSCRIPTS - Please request one set of official transcripts from every college and university from which you earned a bachelor's degree or higher sent to HPU.
