Train for a fulfilling career as an educator, collections specialist, museum technologist, or exhibition designer through our Museum Studies Master's Degree Program. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects museum-related employment will expand at an above-average rate in coming years. Throughout this program, you'll learn to develop educational initiatives, preserve artifacts, utilize technology, and design exhibitions that make art, science, and history accessible to all audiences.Our museum studies graduate program combines the flexibility of online education with the engagement of in-person learning through digital discussions, collaborative projects, and interactive activities. The 10-course curriculum begins with foundational classes covering museum theory, institutional diversity, and methods for fostering public engagement and interpretation.You'll then customize your education by choosing electives aligned with your professional goals, such as artifact preservation, museum information systems, or display creation. The program concludes with a comprehensive capstone project demonstrating your expertise.
Prior to enrolling in any degree-applicable courses, you must possess a 4-year regionally accredited US bachelor’s degree or its foreign equivalent. Foreign bachelor’s degrees must be evaluated for equivalency.
We require a current official transcript (i.e., a transcript issued directly from the school to our office) from each college or university from which you have earned a degree.
3.0 GPA- Earn the required cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 (equivalent to a grade of B) or higher from all Harvard courses.
