The HBS/HKS dual degree programs address an increasingly vital global need: their purpose is to cultivate leaders with expertise in both management and innovative public policy development. These future leaders will hold influential roles across business, government, and nonprofit sectors, making substantial contributions to societal welfare. Established in 2007 through a collaboration between Harvard Business School (HBS) and Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), the programs offer two combined degrees: the MBA/MPP and MBA/MPA-ID. The inaugural class enrolled in fall 2008. Designed as three-year programs, they attract candidates showing outstanding ability in both policy analysis and interdisciplinary management. Alumni emerge ready to tackle multifaceted challenges requiring cooperation among public, private, and nonprofit entities, equipped with versatile leadership skills applicable across all sectors.
An international applicant is required to hold a college or university degree equivalent to a four-year American baccalaureate degree. Equivalent degrees include international three-year bachelor degree programs.
