The Department of Anthropology provides a Master's program focused on medical anthropology. This curriculum is designed to deliver foundational training in medical anthropology for healthcare practitioners, including physicians and other clinical professionals with graduate-level education. In rare instances, exceptional undergraduates pursuing medical or health-related careers may also be considered. Students can finish this rigorous program within one year through full-time study.
Previous concentration in anthropology is not required, but some substantive engagement with the subject is expected of applicants. In addition to academic qualifications, admission decisions are based on the best possible fit between a student’s prospective research area and the current areas of research and teaching of department faculty.
Applicants must receive a minimum score of 80 for the TOEFL, and it is not common for applicants to be admitted with TOEFL scores below 90. The minimum IELTS Academic score is 6.5. Some programs may require higher scores. Application Deadline: Dec 15.
