The Master's program in Regional Studies focuses on Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia (REECA), providing two years of intensive study in this region's history, political systems, cultural traditions, social structures, and languages. This graduate program equips students with comprehensive regional knowledge, advanced language competency, and exceptional analytical, writing, and presentation abilities - essential qualifications for diverse professional paths. Graduates of the REECA program have established careers across multiple sectors such as public service, nonprofit leadership, higher education, and business. Hosted by Harvard's Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies, the program benefits from extensive interdisciplinary resources dedicated to this important world area. With 32 affiliated faculty members spanning seven academic disciplines across four Harvard schools, the Center delivers more than 160 specialized courses annually. Harvard's collections of regional materials rank among the world's most comprehensive outside Russia itself. The Davis Center maintains an active calendar of academic gatherings, symposiums, and special programming that fosters a vibrant intellectual community. Beyond these academic advantages, REECA participants receive substantial financial support including tuition assistance, living stipends, FLAS Fellowships for language study, and funding for research projects and career advancement opportunities.
