The Clinical Psychology Program follows a clinical science training approach and is affiliated with the Academy of Psychological Clinical Science. Our mission is to educate clinical psychologists who can contribute to scientific understanding of mental health disorders and their treatments, while skillfully implementing research-backed assessment and therapeutic techniques. The program primarily focuses on investigating serious psychological disorders through a combination of research studies, academic coursework, and hands-on clinical training, typically spanning five years. During their second and third years, students usually undertake assessment and therapy practicums before meeting all departmental prerequisites for their year-long internship. The program's curriculum satisfies Massachusetts licensure standards and holds accreditation from both the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS) and the American Psychological Association (APA). PCSAS granted its initial 10-year accreditation on May 24, 2012, while APA most recently renewed accreditation for seven years on April 28, 2015.
