As part of Harvard Integrated Life Sciences, the Biophysics program promotes interdisciplinary cooperation and research across fields.
Biophysics joins 13 other life science PhD programs within Harvard Integrated Life Sciences, creating opportunities for academic partnerships across disciplines. The curriculum offers extensive training in biophysical, chemical, and molecular approaches to solve pressing biological and medical challenges. With its adaptable structure, the program allows students to apply their quantitative science expertise to investigate various research domains and develop sophisticated solutions to biological questions.
The Biophysics program firmly supports communities demanding justice for victims of police violence. During these challenging times, our students, faculty, and staff wish to express solidarity with those impacted by discrimination and racial injustice. We are dedicated to cultivating a diverse, inclusive, and supportive community that welcomes individuals of all racial backgrounds, ethnicities, beliefs, national origins, gender identities, sexual orientations, and abilities.
Individuals who have or will have by the time of matriculation a BA, BS, or equivalent undergraduate degree (for prospective international students, a three- or four-year undergraduate degree from an institution of recognized standing) and actively seeks applicants from groups historically underrepresented in graduate schools.
Applicants must receive a minimum score of 80 for the TOEFL, and it is not common for applicants to be admitted with TOEFL scores below 90. The minimum IELTS Academic score is 6.5. Some programs may require higher scores. Application Deadline: Dec 1.
