The Spanish, Latin American, and Latino Studies program provides a unique chance to delve into the wealth of literary works, visual arts, cinema, and the historical and political contexts of cultural expression across three continents. Students can design their academic path with courses from complementary disciplines like anthropology, linguistics, economics, political science, history, art history, music, psychology, and sociology. The RLL curriculum encompasses the entire spectrum of Spanish-speaking societies, spanning from medieval Europe to today's dynamic cultural landscape where the language flourishes through intercultural exchanges in Europe, Latin America (including Brazil), and U.S. Latino populations. With Spanish and Portuguese gaining prominence as global languages, students can apply their cultural understanding and language proficiency in real-world settings. The program also offers opportunities to study Portuguese and indigenous languages and cultures alongside Spanish.
