Gonzaga's Political Science program provides both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a minor option. Students engage with a unique combination of traditional liberal arts learning and modern social science approaches. Numerous Political Science students pair their studies with complementary majors or minors in International Studies, Environmental Studies, or Women's and Gender Studies. Our professors foster understanding of political theories, skills in evaluating political principles, and capacity for informed political decision-making. We emphasize developing clear, logical, and compelling communication abilities while encouraging active civic engagement. Graduates from our program have pursued impactful careers across various sectors. The curriculum equips students for professional paths in politics, nonprofit organizations, law, and global relations. Many alumni dedicate time to service organizations like Peace Corps, Americorps, or Jesuit Volunteer Corps post-graduation. Some continue their education in law school or graduate programs in Political Science and similar disciplines. Others enter public service as diplomats, elected representatives, or professionals in campaign strategy, legislation, policy development, or advocacy.
As an applicant for admission, you are expected to graduate from an accredited high school with a college preparatory curriculum.
