This program equips students with the essential skills for entry-level addiction counseling roles across various treatment settings. The 39-credit accredited curriculum, approved by the state, provides graduates with the necessary competencies to assist individuals struggling with substance abuse. Program Learning Outcomes: Students completing this program will develop counseling and cognitive skills to apply ethical standards and techniques from the Alcohol/Drug Studies Counseling curriculum. They'll gain the ability to integrate counselor competencies from the two-year program, including evidence-based practices required for beginning substance abuse counselor positions. Key outcomes involve conducting proper assessments, implementing case management strategies, employing individual and group counseling techniques, and developing comprehensive treatment plans. Participants must finish all core courses and specified electives totaling 39 units.
