The Georgia State Master of Public Administration (MPA) serves as the premier graduate program for professionals pursuing careers in public service and nonprofit management. Whether you're starting your journey in government or charitable organizations, or aiming to progress in your current role, Georgia State's MPA equips you with the expertise that public and nonprofit employers value. Discover innovative approaches to public service, policy development, and organizational leadership for today's complex world.
The M.P.A. degree stands as the gold standard for professionals entering or advancing in governmental roles at every level. It equally serves those managing nonprofit entities and professional groups. This comprehensive, interdisciplinary program develops future leaders for managerial, analytical, and policy-focused positions across public and nonprofit sectors. Beyond its rigorous core curriculum, the program allows specialization in key areas including public sector management, fiscal policy, and policy assessment.

Public administration combines practical management with policy science to effectively serve communities, directly impacting national well-being, economic growth, and safety. Public administrators shape our daily lives through countless initiatives. Government employs approximately 17% of the U.S. workforce, with public expenditures representing nearly one-third of GDP. Furthermore, private sector professionals increasingly collaborate with government agencies due to growing public-private partnerships, expanding nonprofit sectors, and evolving sector boundaries - making government operations knowledge indispensable for all professionals.
