The Master of Science in Cybersecurity program consists of 32 credit hours, including a 5-credit practicum project. Students across all specializations will complete two foundational courses covering both technological and policy aspects of cybersecurity. Additionally, they must select a third core course from a different specialization track (for instance, policy students must choose a cyber-physical or information security course). A mandatory 5-credit practicum with shared learning objectives completes the core requirements. Each department determines its own 18-credit specialization requirements, consisting of mandatory and elective courses, as outlined in the following section.
While all three schools award the same MS Cybersecurity degree, the program's focus varies by specialization. Specifically:
The School of Computer Science (CS) provides an information security specialization.
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) focuses on cyber-physical systems.
The School of Public Policy (PUBP) offers a policy-oriented specialization.
