Nanotechnology explores the control of matter at atomic and molecular levels. Typically, it focuses on structures measuring 1 to 100 nanometers in at least one dimension, creating materials or devices with features in this microscopic range. At this tiny scale, quantum mechanical phenomena play a crucial role.

The field spans a wide spectrum, from adapting traditional physics to novel molecular self-organization techniques, and from crafting nanoscale materials to probing direct atomic manipulation. Future applications of nanotechnology remain a topic of ongoing discussion.
