The Building Information & Systems specialization equips students for careers in professional practice, technological innovation, or academic research within the evolving smart building sector. Foundational concepts covered include BIM (Building Information Modeling), structural engineering, logistics management, systems integration, IoT applications, and programming.
Students gain industry exposure and research opportunities through the Digital Building Lab partnership, plus access to specialized facilities like the Digital Fabrication Lab and High Performance Building Lab, along with campus-wide computing, engineering, and robotics resources. Those aiming for leadership roles in tech startups or firms can pursue an optional Engineering Entrepreneurship Certificate.
The program accepts students with a professional degree in a design or design-related field, as well as students with a baccalaureate degree in a non-design field who wish to pursue an area of study offered in the Master of Science in Architecture degree.
The minimum score for graduate admission required by Georgia Tech is: IELTS: 7.0 Overall Band score and minimum Component Band scores of: 6.5 Reading, 6.5 Listening, 6.5 Speaking, 5.5 Writing,
The deadline for submission of applications and all supporting documents is December 31 for all students.
