Quantitative Psychology focuses on the intersection of statistical approaches and psychological research. Graduates will develop expertise in quantitative techniques while gaining a strong foundation in psychology. The program requires students to pursue a minor in either another psychology specialization (such as Cognition and Brain Science, Cognitive Aging, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology) or in an external field. Suitable external disciplines encompass computer science, engineering systems, bioinformatics, mathematics, and statistics. Each student's academic path is tailored based on faculty expertise and individual interests. Faculty research and coursework currently cover psychometrics, item response theory, structural equation modeling, multivariate analysis, factor analysis, hierarchical modeling, and various other statistical methods in psychology. Additional details about ongoing research can be found on the Quantitative Psychology Information page.
