The CAE-Design Research Group aims to create computer-driven, system-focused approaches and foundational frameworks that enhance the efficient development and implementation of engineering products and systems for worldwide markets. Our work spans Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM), decentralized design and production, Information Engineering, and the scientific study of design as an independent field.
Our applied research concentrates on developing techniques and technologies to aid engineering analysis, design, production, operations, maintenance, product reuse, and environmental sustainability. Funding for our initiatives has been provided by organizations including the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institute of Standards and Technology/Advanced Technology Program (NIST/ATP), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), US Air Force Research Lab (USAFRL), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC), along with partners from automotive, aerospace, electronics, and various industrial sectors.
