Architecture both mirrors and shapes human existence. As organizations, economies, technologies, and cultures evolve, they constantly reshape how physical spaces facilitate and give meaning to daily activities - from work and communication to collaboration, commerce, education, innovation, and community identity. The Architecture, Culture and Behavior (ACB) research group at the School of Architecture creates analytical frameworks, models, and conceptual approaches to more effectively measure and assess how built environments perform their human-centered roles. ACB research informs both the goal-setting phase of architectural projects and the critical analysis of design alternatives. Additionally, it helps evaluate how existing structures can adapt to meet changing societal demands.
