The School of Physics provides two bachelor's degree options: a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics. The Physics BS program follows a conventional approach, equipping students for advanced physics studies. Both undergraduate programs include: foundational courses fulfilling university-wide requirements, a core curriculum of technical classes building expertise in mathematics and core physics concepts (covering mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum theory governing molecular, atomic, and nuclear phenomena), specialized electives allowing deeper exploration of chosen subjects, undergraduate research opportunities, and approximately 15% of total credit hours dedicated to free electives that can be used for additional technical or non-technical coursework.
