Threads outline potential pathways through the academic program, allowing students to craft their degrees by combining these specialized tracks. While learners aren't required to commit to specific Threads early in their studies, they have the option to do so if desired. We've designed these Threads to offer adaptability, enabling diverse technical and creative explorations while maintaining enough structure to ensure computing proficiency even if interests evolve. The Devices track focuses on embedded computational systems that interface with humans or physical environments. This pathway teaches students to design and assess devices functioning within real-world limitations like dimensions, energy consumption, and data transfer capacity. Applications range from mobile devices and robotics to industrial systems and smart home technologies.
The Information Internetworks track bridges computing with data systems and their broader implications. This pathway equips students with comprehensive information management skills, covering data acquisition, structuring, transformation, transmission, and visualization to convert raw data into meaningful information.
