The College of Computing's computer science (CS) bachelor's program delivers a robust knowledge base and practical abilities for effectively addressing global challenges through digital solutions. Our distinctive approach features Threads, an innovative undergraduate CS education framework developed by the College. Starting with core programming and computational theory, the curriculum enables students to deeply investigate multiple computing disciplines. Eight specialized Threads offer tailored academic journeys across Georgia Tech's diverse course offerings, preparing students for impactful careers in our interconnected world. By combining any two Threads, students earn an accredited Bachelor of Science in computer science, with the intersection of these paths creating unique educational synergies. Graduates emerge with a profound understanding of their field's boundless possibilities, equipped to evolve and contribute meaningfully throughout their professional lives.
Threads form partial curricular pathways, allowing students to weave their personalized degree. While early Thread selection isn't mandatory, it remains an option. Designed for adaptability, Threads accommodate diverse technical and creative pursuits while maintaining enough structure to ensure skill development even if interests change.
The CS program additionally provides undergraduate research and global study opportunities. Alongside the traditional four-year track, a five-year co-op option combines academic learning with practical industry experience.
Applicants must have International Baccalaureate Diploma.
