The School of Modern Languages provides a Bachelor of Science program in Applied Languages and Intercultural Studies (ALIS), featuring specialized tracks in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. This ALIS degree prepares students with contemporary language skills tailored for an increasingly interconnected world.
The ALIS program extends beyond traditional language learning. Situated in Atlanta's international crossroads, Georgia Tech bridges global culture and technological advancement. Our curriculum emphasizes that true language mastery requires practical abilities for modern challenges, innovative solutions, and global progress. The ALIS program combines cultural and cross-disciplinary methods, educating students in language specialization alongside linguistics, literary studies, media analysis, cultural understanding, comparative frameworks, and critical thinking.
Applicants must have International Baccalaureate Diploma.
