The School of Modern Languages provides a Bachelor of Science in Applied Languages and Intercultural Studies, featuring specialized tracks in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. The ALIS program immerses students in language learning across diverse real-world settings—from social interactions to technical fields, cultural studies, business, arts, media, and sciences—equipping them with vital skills for today's globalized economy. By combining language proficiency with another academic discipline at Georgia Tech, graduates pursue careers in international business, management, logistics, media, government, healthcare, digital design, and more. The curriculum includes 33 credits of upper-level language coursework covering cultural studies, technology applications, creative fields, and advanced language skills. Students also complete a 15-credit focus area through an approved minor or cluster, with 12 credits required in study-abroad language or focus courses.
