The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry program equips students with comprehensive knowledge in chemical sciences while introducing them to cutting-edge developments in the field. Students can choose between the standard curriculum and the Honors program, which share identical coursework for the initial two years but diverge in the final stages. The Honors option demands greater research involvement, culminating in a written thesis and departmental presentation of findings.
Both the Biochemistry and Chemistry programs deliver thorough instruction in core scientific principles and methodologies, advancing to specialized study and research possibilities. The American Chemical Society-accredited Chemistry program enables students to investigate all five chemistry branches: organic, physical, analytical, inorganic, and biochemistry. The Biochemistry curriculum provides extensive training through dedicated lecture and laboratory courses, plus the flexibility to customize studies with three upper-level electives.
This demanding undergraduate program readies students for graduate studies in chemical or biochemical sciences at universities, medical/dental schools, or for professional roles in industry, education, or research. A majority of our alumni continue their education in Chemical, Biochemical, or Medical Science graduate programs.
