The Master of Public Policy (MPP) program at the Trachtenberg School equips students to thoroughly analyze data and examine the foundational theories influencing public policy that governs societies worldwide.
Beyond required classes, both MPP and MPA candidates select a specialized study area aligned with their personal interests and professional goals, choosing from predefined options or crafting one with faculty guidance. Every graduate student at TSPPPA undertakes a culminating capstone project for a client they select.
Courses in this specialization investigate connections between government and business sectors, emphasizing their interplay in areas like contracts, consulting, collaborative ventures, regulatory frameworks, and privatization. The curriculum also addresses international aspects of these dynamics, incorporating case analyses and debates to underscore critical legal, policy, and administrative factors, including how decisions are made and partnerships assessed. This track caters to individuals focused on the strategic and operational consequences of public-private engagements. Due to its broad scope, the listed courses merely illustrate potential options for meeting specialization requirements. Prospective students aiming to concentrate in public-private policy and management should work with program advisors to create a tailored academic roadmap.
