The Master of Public Administration (MPA) serves as the premier professional qualification for careers in public administration, management, and service. While primarily tailored for public service professionals, it also benefits those in other sectors. Alumni typically work across all government levels, national organizations, advocacy groups, research institutions, and private companies. The curriculum explores management and policy challenges through intergovernmental and cross-sectoral lenses, emphasizing critical thinking, analytical proficiency, and ethical considerations fundamental to public administration. This 9-credit concentration examines government decision-making processes, particularly enhancing students' capacity to assess policy impacts. It's ideal for aspiring policy analysts in government entities, nonprofit organizations, or research firms, equipping them with robust quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Certain courses may fulfill core requirements in MPP or MPA programs; these can only count toward field requirements if not previously applied to core credits. Students may, with advisor approval, incorporate relevant courses from related disciplines to customize their studies.
