The Master of Professional Studies in Strategic Public Relations leverages GW's strong ties in Washington, D.C., emphasizing the public policy landscape and how PR agencies, corporate communications teams, and association PR departments influence advocacy. The Graduate School of Political Management recruits top practitioners from both public relations and political spheres to teach. Graduates leave equipped to advance their careers in the industry.
This 30-credit program comprises 10 courses. Participants can transfer credits earned through graduate certificates in public relations, digital communications, or global public relations toward the strategic PR master's degree. The curriculum covers key areas like communications theory, legal and ethical considerations, digital media tactics, program evaluation, crisis management, media engagement, and strategic development.
Courses are held weekday evenings at GW's Arlington campus. Students also have the flexibility to complete the program fully online or through a combination of in-person and virtual learning.
