The Animal Law program at GW Law delivers an extensive array of academic and hands-on experiences for students while offering pro bono assistance to DC government agencies, animal welfare organizations, and community initiatives dedicated to enhancing animal protections. The curriculum covers current legal frameworks (encompassing laws governing pets, livestock, research subjects, entertainment animals, and wildlife across local, national, and international jurisdictions) while advocating for progressive legal changes to improve animal welfare. This initiative fosters collaboration between municipal authorities and animal protection groups at all levels, aiming to transform societal views on human-animal relationships and advance the wellbeing of all creatures.
