The graduate certificate in mathematics program enhances students' mathematical foundations, preparing them for advanced studies in quantitative disciplines. This program particularly benefits individuals aiming for prestigious economics or finance graduate programs who feel they lacked sufficient math coursework as undergraduates. It's also excellent for those considering graduate mathematics studies but needing additional foundational knowledge.
The curriculum consists of four graduate-level courses. With departmental approval based on academic relevance and career objectives, students may substitute one standard course with alternative mathematics or related field offerings (such as statistics).
All program courses are drawn from the standard graduate curriculum. Whenever feasible, the department schedules these classes during lunch hours or after 5 pm to accommodate participants' schedules.
This program holds STEM designation.
