The five-year combined B.S./M.S. program enables students to earn both a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in four years and a Master of Science in Computer Engineering with just one additional year of study.
Along with GW's standard dual degree policies, participants must fulfill these specific academic criteria:
Finish any departmental Bachelor of Science program, with the stipulation that two (2) Technical Electives (totaling at least six (6) credits) must be selected from graduate courses offered by the Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) Department. As per existing policy, all undergraduate Technical Electives require advisor approval. Importantly, these two ECE graduate courses count toward both the bachelor's and master's degrees.
Complete eight (8) additional graduate-level courses (24 credit hours total), all requiring advisor approval.
Combined degree students gain enhanced undergraduate research opportunities and are encouraged (though not mandated) to pursue a master's thesis.
