Every student enrolled in an Elliott School major must fulfill the General Bachelor's Program Requirements. BAIA candidates must additionally complete all three major requirements specified for the Bachelor of Arts in international affairs program. Proficiency in a modern foreign language at the third-year level, verified through testing or course completion, is mandatory.
All courses counting toward the international affairs major require a minimum grade of C-. No course may satisfy multiple international affairs requirements simultaneously (with the exception of WID courses).
This concentration examines political, economic, and social systems through comparative analysis, exploring differences across nations and transnational issues. It emphasizes diverse governance structures, the influence of political institutions on economic decisions, and interactions between governments and societies. Students gain comprehensive understanding of specific nations' historical backgrounds, political landscapes, economic models, and social frameworks.
