Those enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology program explore human evolution and biological makeup, perspectives on identity factors like gender and socioeconomic status, and analyze artifacts and language diversity. The curriculum includes mandatory foundation courses along with specialized electives spanning the discipline's concentrations, complemented by opportunities for hands-on fieldwork and laboratory investigations.

Unlike the BS in Biological Anthropology, the BA program mandates more intermediate-to-advanced anthropology coursework plus four terms of foreign language instruction. Every anthropology major culminates their studies with a senior thesis project, which may involve a conceptual seminar, an advanced graduate course, or original research conducted under faculty supervision in an anthropological laboratory setting.
