The Women and Gender Studies (WGST) program uniquely combines academic research, instruction, and social engagement in two distinctive ways. Initially, our interdisciplinary teaching approach provides access to diverse university courses that foster both intellectual growth and career aspirations. Additionally, we cultivate a tight-knit community where students, instructors, and staff discover an inclusive environment nurturing their academic pursuits and personal growth beyond traditional learning spaces. Core curriculum covers feminist and queer theory, critical race studies, and international feminist perspectives, while electives span topics like African American women's history, disability research, health and gender, global human rights, migration studies, sexuality in global contexts, African diaspora psychology, and environmental feminism.
