The English Bachelor of Arts program enables students to explore diverse fields including literary studies, creative writing, film and media studies, rhetoric and composition, language science, folk traditions, and cultural analysis. Within these seven specialization areas, learners can focus on one or two paths aligned with their academic passions and professional aspirations. The department actively supports internship opportunities within chosen specializations, with faculty advisors guiding students through these experiences. Maintaining intimate class sizes allows professors to offer individualized support. Throughout the program, students develop writing skills across both conventional and digital platforms in multiple contexts, culminating in a substantial research project for their concentration's capstone course. Ambitious students may join the English Honors Program, featuring thesis options and advanced research or creative endeavors. Aspiring educators can benefit from the combined bachelor's/master's pathway offered collaboratively with the College of Education and Human Development.
