Advancements in methods, communication, and distribution platforms have equalized opportunities for filmmakers, yet the core components of an engaging movie stay unchanged. In Full Sail University's Film Production MFA program, your studies focus on essential aspects like narrative craft, visual style, and technical positions, along with the business tactics required to present your finished projects to viewers.
Effective film production demands a thorough, well-rounded grasp of the procedures, methods, and technologies involved in movie creation. The goal of Full Sail University's Film Production MFA program is to equip students with the expertise, competencies, and capabilities needed to produce a film from initial idea to final product. This will be achieved through hands-on projects that mirror the actual film production workflow. These educational exercises will enable students to evaluate a script's dramatic and market potential, organize pre-production requirements, oversee cast and crew during filming, and comprehend the legal and commercial aspects of the industry. Each course will also enhance students' academic research abilities, resources, and approaches, teaching them to apply scholarly research across various situations and learning experiences. By program completion, students will have assembled an extensive graduate-level portfolio showcasing their work.
You must have a baccalaureate or higher level degree from an accredited postsecondary educational institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education with a transfer academic average of 2.0, OR a Full Sail bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
Degree held must be of similar scope/subject matter as the intended graduate degree program.
