The Inside Wireman program offers a thorough curriculum designed to equip students for a successful career as an Inside Wireman. This program fulfills the "whole program status" requirement set by the Department of Apprenticeship Standards. Graduates will gain the essential knowledge and skills to work as Inside Wiremen, covering foundational sciences, math, safety protocols, blueprint and code interpretation, and practical job skills. After completing the required work hours and experience, graduates are eligible to sit for the State certification exam and begin their careers as Inside Wiremen. The construction industry offers a wide range of career paths for qualified Inside Wiremen. Based on their interests and coursework, graduates can pursue roles as Inside Wiremen in commercial, industrial, and residential sectors, or specialize as voice data video technicians, fire and life safety technicians, or non-residential lighting technicians.
The Residential Wireman program is conducted in collaboration with the Santa Clara County Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee. This three-year apprenticeship combines paid on-the-job training with classroom instruction at no cost to students. Participants will learn to install and connect electrical systems in houses, condominiums, and apartments, as well as maintain basic electrical and power distribution systems in residential settings.
