The Aquatic Environmental Science Professional Master's program marks our department's inaugural professional track degree. We're thrilled to introduce this innovative program, which provides students with alternative career pathways within the growing geosciences field.
This program enables students to obtain a science-based equivalent of an MBA through the Professional Science Master's degree.

Initially supported by Former Dean Nancy Marcus, with contributions from Associate Dean Lois Hawkes and Jennifer Buchanan from the Dean of Faculties office, this forward-thinking curriculum equips students for leadership roles. The redesigned program places greater focus on internships and requires students to complete three additional courses in business, project management, and communication.

The PSM represents a groundbreaking graduate degree that combines scientific or mathematical specialization with essential professional skills sought by employers. These two-year programs blend advanced academic study in emerging or interdisciplinary fields with practical experience, including internships and training in business, communication, and regulatory matters. Developed in collaboration with industry partners, these programs align with current and future career prospects in professional settings.
