The FSU Master of Applied American Politics & Policy (MAAPP) program stands as a premier graduate initiative, offering hands-on professional development within a rigorous academic setting for those dedicated to creating political change.

This Master of Science degree caters to aspiring professionals pursuing careers across diverse political arenas such as Campaign Management, Fundraising, Political Communications, Advocacy, Community Organizing, and Legislative Relations. MAAPP sets itself apart from traditional political science programs through two key benefits: adaptable scheduling with evening classes for working professionals, and unparalleled access to political connections thanks to our prime location in Tallahassee - the capital of America's third most populous state.

The 36-credit curriculum requires no thesis, consisting of 24 classroom credits plus a 12-credit practical internship. By maintaining full-time enrollment (12 credits per term) across three consecutive semesters, students can complete the program in just one year.

Since its founding in 2001, MAAPP has produced more than 500 alumni occupying influential roles in Florida and national government. Our students regularly tap into this powerful professional network to secure political positions and accelerate their career growth. Recognized among the nation's best applied learning graduate programs, MAAPP operates within FSU's Political Science Department - consistently ranked among the top 20 political science programs nationwide.
