The Department of Urban and Regional Planning (DURP) provides collaborative graduate programs in conjunction with fields like demography, international relations, legal studies, public management, and health administration. These combined degree options allow learners to earn two master's qualifications concurrently while significantly decreasing the overall credit load. The fields of urban planning and geospatial technology share multiple intersections. Numerous planning roles require expertise in spatial analysis and cartographic skills. Notably, GIS fundamentals are now mandatory for planning students. Those studying GIS can expand their career prospects beyond technical roles, gaining access to broader professional opportunities. The program requires completion of 63 credits, comprising 33 credits for the Master of Urban Planning (MSP) and 30 credits for the Geographic Information Science (MSGIS) curriculum.
