Our on-campus degree program presents two pathways: the first leads to teacher certification, while the second focuses on professional growth. This program delivers thorough, discipline-oriented education with a strong emphasis on art education for social justice. Ideal candidates include working artists, educators, those pursuing teaching careers, and professionals in community or museum art education. For certification seekers, program requirements are tailored to qualify graduates for Florida's K-12 art teaching certification. Certification-track students join cohorts progressing through related degree programs within our department.

Qualification Requirements
An earned bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited US institution, or a comparable degree from an international institution, with a minimum of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) grade point average (GPA) in all coursework.
The applicant must be in good standing in the institution of higher education
All applicants should have an undergraduate major related to art, art education, arts administration or have thirty credited hours of art and/or art history course work.
Relevant teaching experience is recommended but not required
Earn a minimum percentile ranking of 55% on the Verbal and 25% on the Quantitative portions of the GRE.
The GRE waiver may be requested for students that have achieved a 3.0 GPA during their undergraduate studies
